Principal News…
Great job Mrs. Bankemper and all of our 4th/5th grade chorus participants. Your performance on Wednesday was amazing and captured all of the growth from the beginning of the school year. It was amazing to see how many family members attended to participate in the tremendous show.
Next week we will begin our pedestrian and bike education programs embedded within our PE classes, as well as some of our older students taking the bike education quiz. Additionally, we will be conducting our Spring administration of the ELA and Math MAP assessments. Please make sure students come to school with fully charged Chromebooks, a great night’s rest and have a healthy breakfast so they can showcase all of their academic skills and progress. Please conduct conversations with your student(s) to put forth their best effort, persevere, and support the teacher conversations of individual goal setting. If we reach our internal building goals, there may be a slight surprise for all of the students to enjoy, involving me spraying my hair in different colors.
May 8th in the morning Storm will participate in Bike/Walk/Scoot to school day. There may be some emergency vehicles present to promote the event. In the afternoon, several of our 5th grade students will be representing HC Storm at the All City Track Meet. We wish you luck and most importantly, have fun! May 10th, PTO sponsored Thunder Run; rain or shine. If we are able to have the event outside, we will gladly welcome any spectators to cheer on our students and I want to give advance thanks to all of our volunteers on that day, as well as all of our sponsors and partnerships with community businesses. As a reminder, the online fundraising is open and will continue a couple of days after the event.
