HCS Parent Newsletter for 5.17.24

Principal News…

This past week, we announced the Thunder Run Teacher Experience Winners!  Please continue to be on the lookout for any required permission forms that have been or will be sent home for the students to be able to participate.  Other raffles have been provided and it was amazing to see all of the student excitement.

Next week we have our Storm Stampede, multiple end of the year grade level field trips or picnics and our 5th grade breakfast on the last day of school.  At Friday (5.24) dismissal, we will be clapping out all of our 5th grade students.  Beginning at 3:10, the students will walk the HC Storm hallways for their final time and we will have all of the 5th grade students exiting the main entrance around 3:25.  Parents are welcome to participate in this event and can remain outside to further celebrate our 5th grade class of 2024 as they will begin their new journey to the Middle School.

A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who have and will continue to make this school year memorable for all of our students.  We truly cannot do it without all of the support, from PTO sponsored activities, Thunder Run, Storm Stampede, Green Team, Art in the Classroom, general classroom assistance, Holiday Parties and everything in between.  Really shows how strong our H.C. Storm community is!

All library books are due TODAY. You will get an email with any outstanding library books your child has in their possession. Your child will also come home with a list of the books along with the prices. If you know they are lost, please pay for the books before June 1. Books that are not returned by the last day of school will automatically be billed on your child’s PowerSchool account. You may directly contact Mrs. Kispert to discuss any lost books. diane.kispert@bps101.net.

2024.2025: One 5 day a week lunch supervisor position has recently become available.  If you are interested please complete the application process found on the BPS website under the HR Department.  If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact the main office.

FYI – our newsletters have a 5,000 character limit, so we will have more links to click for detailed information.
