Storm is excited to announce we had 42 students nominated as Wish Tree Ambassador during the month of September, across all grade levels.  These individuals were identified as going above and beyond with our 4B’s, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe and Be Kind.  Each of the nominated individuals were able to write a wish, which will be placed on the tree outside in the center circle.  We would like to share some of the wishes they came up with:

‘I wish for my friend to come back.’

‘I wish to attend Columbia College and get a degree in physics and environmental science.’

‘I wish for a big fluffy unicorn.’

‘I wish for everyone to have a friend.’

‘I wish that COVID 19 would end.’

‘I wish X would be my friend.’

‘I wish for my friend in Alabama to move back to HCS.’

‘I wish to be a good Youtuber.’

‘I wish for a normal school year.’

‘I wish for more Bluestem books for the school library.’

‘I wish for a pet monkey.’

‘I wish for a field trip to Brookfield Zoo.’

‘I wish for everyone to be happy.’

‘I wish for more video games.’

‘I wish to be a better person and a friend to everyone.’

‘Yo deseo que todos seamos amigos.’

We will be looking for all those students who continue to go above and beyond each month.  Our hope is our Storm Community will all have the opportunity to share their wishes with the neighborhood and celebrate the positive choices they make!

Thank you to everyone and their participation with Parent/Teacher conferences.  We still have the opportunity to get them scheduled, so please work with your classroom teacher to secure a conference.

Our National Walk to school event on October 6th was successful and we will only look to increase it during the Spring for National Bike or Scooter to school day, which lines up perfectly for our pedestrian/bike educational curriculum.

Enjoy the long weekend!  Please play your part in keeping our school buildings open by utilizing appropriate social distancing, mask wearing, hand washing and avoiding large congregations of people.

We continue to appreciate all the extra work our teachers are doing yet again in an atypical school year and want to offer parents the opportunity to provide any classroom items that you may need. We also want to acknowledge that with the school supplies being a bit different this year, you may already be seeing items your classroom needs more immediately. Parents have the chance to fulfill any of the items to be dropped off at HC Storm or can send them to school with their child. We will be including the Giving Tree link in the PTO weekly emails starting next week. Email Katie Kramer at  klicciardi@gmail.com with the subject Giving Tree.
  • Please make sure to follow us on Facebook for the most up to date information: What’s Happening at HC Storm Elementary: PTO Updates.  This will be the best way for remote learners to connect with Storm for the time being while email lists are sorted out through the district.
